ExxonMobil and Walgreens Sales to Minors Agreements
Attorney General Bill Lockyer and the other chief law enforcement officers of 42 other states, the District of Columbia and two U.S. territories reached an agreement with Exxon Mobil Corp. (ExxonMobil) in August 2002 regarding tobacco sales to minors. A similar agreement was previously reached in February 2002 between Attorney General Lockyer and the Attorneys General of 39 other states with Walgreens.

The Best Practices in Tobacco Retailing Checklist is a tool that can be used to assess the strength of business practices to prevent illegal tobacco sales and to evaluate the impact of merchant education efforts. The checklist list indicates a number of actions for tobacco retailers to take to stop illegal tobacco sales to minors.
