Communicate with Target
- An initial meeting should be scheduled with the decision-maker or target
to present your issue and hopefully to obtain their support, but with the
understanding that the target is unlikely to concede to the request for change.
Approximately 3 to 8 people should attend this initial meeting with the target.
- Later, if the target is non-responsive to the group's request, schedule
another meeting in which you assemble a group 15 to 25 people to demonstrate
your support and seriousness.
- Educate the volunteers and provide them with talking points.
- Be prepared with fact sheets about the relevance and importance of the problem
locally.
